I believe there is something incredibly beautiful about preparing as much as we can while also learning to surrender what we cannot control.
Birth is an act of trust.
Birth requires us to step into something we have never experienced before—or to experience something familiar in an entirely new way.
There may be excitement.
There may be fear.
There may be uncertainty.
There may be moments when the plan changes.
And there may be moments when all we can do is breathe, pray, and take the next step.
Faith doesn’t mean we know exactly how the story will unfold.
Faith means trusting God even when we don’t know.
A Prayer for Birth
Lord,
As I prepare to meet my baby, help me prepare my heart as well as my body.
When I am afraid, remind me that You are near.
When I am uncertain, help me trust You.
When things don’t go according to my plans, give me grace to surrender what I cannot control.
Give me strength for each moment, peace when I need it, and wisdom to make the decisions that are right for me and my baby.
Surround me with people who will encourage, support, and care for me.
Help me remember that my worth is not determined by how my birth unfolds.
And when the waiting feels long, remind me:
This baby will arrive in Your time.
Amen.
YOU DON’T HAVE TO HAVE PERFECT FAITH TO WALK INTO BIRTH.
You can be excited and afraid.
You can feel prepared and uncertain.
You can pray and still have questions.
You can trust God and still have moments of fear.
Faith isn’t the absence of fear. It’s knowing Who you can turn to when fear comes.
Whatever your birth looks like, you don’t walk into it alone.
In His Time.
