Support for your birth, your way.

At In His Time, I believe every birth is unique. My role is to walk beside you through pregnancy, labor, birth, and those first precious moments afterward—offering a calm presence, encouragement, education, and hands-on comfort along the way.

You have the freedom to make the choices that are right for you and your baby. I am here to help you feel informed, prepared, supported, and confident throughout your birth experience.

What Birth Doula Support Includes

Prenatal Support

Our relationship begins before labor.

We’ll spend time getting to know one another, discussing your hopes and concerns, and preparing for the many possibilities of birth.

Prenatal support may include:

  • Prenatal consultations
  • Birth planning and preparation
  • Discussing your birth preferences
  • Education about the stages of labor
  • Comfort measures and labor positions
  • Breathing and relaxation techniques
  • Preparing your partner or support person
  • Discussing questions to ask your healthcare provider
  • Preparing for the hospital or birth center
  • Postpartum preparation
  • Breastfeeding and infant-feeding preparation

My goal is for you to walk into birth feeling prepared—not fearful.

On-Call Labor Support

When your birth is approaching, I’ll be on call and available according to your personalized support plan.

When labor begins, we’ll stay in communication and determine when it is time for me to join you.

During labor, I provide continuous, individualized support that may include:

  • Encouragement and reassurance
  • Breathing and relaxation techniques
  • Massage and counter-pressure
  • Position changes and movement
  • Birth ball support
  • Suggestions for comfort measures
  • Creating a calm and peaceful environment
  • Emotional support through challenging moments
  • Helping your partner know how to support you
  • Helping you communicate questions and preferences with your care team

I will be there to remind you to breathe, encourage you when things become difficult, and help you find the next comfortable position when you need it.

Partner & Support Person Support

Your partner doesn’t have to step aside when a doula joins your birth team.

Quite the opposite.

I believe your partner should feel included, confident, and supported throughout the experience.

I’ll work alongside your partner or chosen support person, offering suggestions for comfort measures and stepping in when they need a moment to rest.

Together, we’ll create a support team centered around you and your baby’s needs.

Birth Support

Birth doesn’t always go according to plan—and that’s okay.

Whether your labor unfolds exactly as you imagined or takes an unexpected turn, I will remain a calm and supportive presence.

I can help you navigate changes, provide emotional reassurance, suggest comfort measures, and help you formulate questions for your healthcare providers.

I will support your choices without judgment.

My role is not to advocate for a particular type of birth. My role is to advocate for you feeling informed, heard, respected, and supported.

Immediate Postpartum Support

After your baby arrives, I’ll remain with you for a period of time to help ease the transition into those first moments of parenthood.

Depending on your package, postpartum support may include:

  • Emotional reassurance
  • Helping you get comfortable after birth
  • Basic newborn-care support
  • Breastfeeding/feeding encouragement
  • Helping you recognize when additional feeding support may be helpful
  • Partner support
  • Processing your birth experience
  • Helping you transition into the early postpartum period

Those first hours can be overwhelming, beautiful, exhausting, and emotional—all at once. You don’t have to navigate them alone.

A Note About My Role

A doula provides non-clinical support. I do not replace your physician, midwife, nurse, or other healthcare provider.

I do not perform medical examinations, diagnose conditions, interpret medical tests, prescribe medications, or make medical decisions.

Instead, I work alongside your healthcare team to provide the emotional, physical, and informational support that can make your birth experience feel more supported and empowered. I can help you prepare for the possibilities, talk through your preferences, learn comfort techniques, prepare your support team, think through questions for your provider, and feel more confident going into labor.

And when birth doesn’t go according to plan—which sometimes happens—I can help you take a breath, regroup, and navigate what’s happening.

Your healthcare team is there to provide your medical care.

I’m there to provide your support.

Just like a wedding planner helps create the best possible experience without being able to control every detail, my job is to help you feel prepared, supported, informed, and cared for while you do the incredible work of bringing your baby into the world.

Because ultimately, I can’t plan every detail of your birth—and I certainly can’t give birth for you.

But I can be there beside you, helping you through each step.

You prepare. I support. God holds the timing.

In His Time.

Birth Is in His Time

You can prepare your birth preferences.

You can pack the hospital bag.

You can take the classes.

You can practice your breathing.

You can make your plans.

But ultimately, we don’t control when or exactly how our babies arrive.

That is the heart behind In His Time.

“For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.”
— Ecclesiastes 3:1

My purpose is to help you prepare for the birth ahead while reminding you that you don’t have to have every moment figured out.

Prepare. Trust. Breathe. Believe.
